Featured Facility: WCU

At West Chester University their members are their students and so are their instructors. As the director of the group fitness program at WCU Michelle Ford let us know that they are always striving to keep up with what’s current and trending in group fitness. That’s why they decided to host a Red Hot Barre Instructor Training. “The Barre format is something we noticed is exploding in the group fitness world, and we wanted to see what all the fuss was about! (And we are so glad that we did!) The Red Hot Barre Training offered an immense amount of information for those who are already in the group fitness industry, as well as plenty of resources, skills, and strategies for new instructors. The flexible format and affordable cost was an enticing reason to use Red Hot Barre as well.”

Michelle goes on to add that “the Red Hot programs offer our instructors a multitude of resources, such as choreography, sample sequencing, and playlists, which we believe assists our instructors immensely. It is all too often that instructors get “stuck in the rut” of doing things the same way every week; however, Red Hot programs push instructors to do the opposite. By providing so much on their end, our instructors are easily motivated to inspire, and push their participants further.”

The University also offers the Red Hot Dance Fitness program and has found that their students love the format. Michelle says, “The songs, movements and environment make RHDF a class to have fun in, while getting a great workout!” She adds that many “had experiences dancing regularly while growing up, or being part of some organize dance team. Red Hot Dance Fitness is a great outlet for those who had to give up their love of dance when they came to WCU to focus on academics. RHDF is a guaranteed slot on the schedule where participant know they can just show up and enjoy their hour of dance!”
